A brown cardboard box arrived on my door step… a gift from the Brown Bag Crisps company. I opened the box and 4 natty little bags of crisps lay before me. But what is so special about these crisps? Well, to be honest, I wasn’t sure which is why they sent me some to try. Brown Bag Crisps are award-winning crisps, cooked gently in mild olive which gives them their distinctive flavour and sets them apart from other crisps.
I’d like to think of myself as a Conoisseur of crisps, if you like… But I’m fussy with the brands I let in my house. Kettle crisps? Yeah, they’re ok but they’re not my favourite. Tyrells? YES! Always YES! Walkers are a firm favourite too but the rest, well, I find them a bit mundane to be honest. Whilst I’m all for posh crisps and handcooked fanciness, sometimes you just fancy a bag of beef Monster Munch, nowhaddimean? No heirs, nor graces… Just good honest crisp-satisfation.
What was rather peculiar about this delivery of crisps was the strange fondness I found myself having for a flavour I have always hated… Salt and vinegar. I detest salt and vinegar. Anyone who knows me, knows this and even worse if it involves malt vinegar. So how strange to discover that I am absolutely addicted to Brown Bag Crisps’ salt and malt vinegar flavour? I’m truly baffled by this! But my second favourite had to be the oak smoked chilli flavour… Really delicately oaky and pleasantly spiced. Truly lovely flavours.
I must say that as a blogger, I never write about products I don’t 100% like and I certainly never accept offers for products that I genuinely don’t use/consume at home… so believe me when I say these crisps are GOOD and definitely the kind of crisps that are welcome in my house anytime!
